Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of terms

By creating an account, joining the waitlist, or otherwise using the Cariosan managed service ("the Service"), you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Description of the Service

Cariosan is a realtime chat infrastructure provided by [ENTITY_NAME]. The self-hostable binary distribution is available under the Cariosan License v1.0 — free to use for any purpose, including commercial. These Terms apply only when you use our hosted/managed offering (Cariosan Cloud). Self-hosted users are bound by the Cariosan License v1.0 instead.

3. Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction) and able to form a binding contract. You are responsible for keeping your credentials safe and for activity under your account. [ANY_KYC_OR_BUSINESS_ENTITY_REQUIREMENTS].

4. Acceptable use

You may not use the Service to:

• Send spam, malware, or unlawful content.
• Harass, dox, or facilitate harm against any individual or group.
• Circumvent rate limits, scrape data you don't own, or attack the infrastructure.
• Resell or sublicence the Service in a way that competes directly with Cariosan's offering — the free self-host distribution path exists for non-competing uses.
• Process data prohibited by law in your jurisdiction or [ANY_OTHER_RESTRICTIONS].

5. Your content

You retain ownership of any content (messages, attachments, metadata) you or your users send through the Service. You grant Cariosan a limited licence to store, transmit, and display that content solely as needed to provide the Service. We do not use your content to train models or for marketing.

6. Intellectual property

The Cariosan name, logo, brand assets, and source code are owned by [ENTITY_NAME]. The Cariosan binary distribution is made available under the Cariosan License v1.0 (free use grant + restrictions on redistribution and reverse engineering — see the LICENSE file shipped with the distribution for full terms). Nothing in these Terms transfers ownership of any intellectual property to you.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Cariosan and its operators will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, or business interruption. 10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold Cariosan harmless from claims arising out of your content, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of third-party rights.

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for material breach of these Terms with notice where reasonable. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (Sections 5 last sentence, 6, 8, 9, 10, 14) survive.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Indonesia, without regard to conflict of laws principles.

13. Dispute resolution
